Find your way back
Follow people through the tree with a breadcrumb trail. Return to an earlier person, keep useful branches as bookmarks, or share a direct link.
Family history, thoughtfully explored
You’ve gathered the records. Now give your family a way to explore them. Ramus turns your Gramps Web tree into connected people, places and stories.

Less searching. More discovering.
Large family trees hold wonderful detail. Ramus helps you move through that detail without losing the person, the relationship or the story you came to find.

Choose your generations and family layers. Use the tree overview to move around, zoom to the selected person, and tuck the side panel away.
See how people are connected and highlight the visible relationship path. Keep the rest of the tree in view as you follow the thread.
More than names and dates
A tree shows the connections. A story brings a person into focus. A map puts their recorded places in context.
Move between parents, partners and children. Expand the tree when you want more context.
Read recorded events and relationships together, with supporting sources where your Gramps data provides them.
Explore recorded places and events. Map coverage follows the locations and coordinates in your database.

Yes. The current preview runs on your own computer or server. Docker is used for the bundled installation. Secure remote family access also needs an HTTPS address and appropriate server configuration.
The viewer adapts to smaller screens, including a menu drawer and a collapsible tree overview. Large trees naturally benefit from more screen space.
The main tree screenshot shows real historical records, with visible marriage dates of 1675 and 1710. No modern relatives or account details are shown. The Family, Story and Places illustrations further down this page use entirely synthetic people and places.
Not yet. The current route is through the source repository and installation guide. Downloadable packages, a public container image and distribution licensing are still being prepared.
